Kelly Fader

Kelly completed her PhD as a member of Dr. Tim Zacharewski’s lab, where her research examined the role of the aryl hydrocarbon receptor (AhR) in the development and progression of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). Her graduate work demonstrated that AhR activation elicits segment-specific alterations in intestinal gene expression and function, promoting hepatic lipid accumulation, oxidative stress, inflammation, and bile acid accumulation. Kelly will continue her scientific training as a post-doctoral research associate in the Zacharewski lab, where she will investigate the mechanism through which AhR disrupts hepatic circadian rhythmicity.
