• Polly Hsu has received two grants totaling nearly $3.7 million from the National Science Foundation and the National Institutes of Health.
• These awards will support research into gene expression regulation and open reading frames — stretches of mRNA with the potential to create proteins — and impact plant resilience and human health.
• “We’ll be making a lot of discoveries and generating new tools,” Hsu said.
