Introduction to STATA
In this 60-minute seminar, you will learn about the basics of Stata and how to best use Stata in the data analysis process. In particular, we will walk through a simple project to demonstrate the typical workflow in Stata as well as how to use Stata’s command syntax to achieve the following tasks:
- Importing data
- Cleaning data and doing basic data/variable transformation
- Exploring data with basic visualization and descriptive statistics
- Running statistical tests and fitting models
- Reporting results and saving data
Along the way, we will also discuss tips and tricks to manage your research project effectively and ensure reproducibility when using Stata. Learn more and register here.
PRL Tuesday Noon Seminar: Xiaotong Jiang
The PRL Tuesday Noon Seminar on April 16, 2024 will feature a talk from Xiaotong Jiang from Hu Lab. The seminar is titled “Arabidopsis Glyoxylate Reductase 1 is involved in a non-canonical photorespiratory pathway under high light conditions”.
Please join us at 12pm in PLB 168 or by Zoom with this link. Passcode: 420205
ETD Submission Deadline
Each semester has a deadline for the initial submission of theses and dissertations to ProQuest. The deadline is generally two weeks prior to the final deadline. Plan your defense accordingly. The document submitted to ProQuest is expected to be a final version, meaning it has been successfully defended, corrections the committee wants have been made, and there are no more content changes. Students are highly encouraged to read and follow the Thesis and Dissertation information available on the Graduate School’s website at: https://grad.msu.edu/etd. This site gives instructions on formatting, required paperwork, and how to submit to ProQuest.
Teaching Cohort Fellowship Showcase
The Graduate School cordially invites you to join the Teaching Cohort Fellowship Showcase where Graduate School sponsored fellows share the projects they have worked on throughout the academic year. Showcases will take place in Room 110, 220, and the Chittenden Commons. This event is open to all. Learn more and register here.
First International Summit on Plant Resilience
The Plant Resilience Institute's first International Plant Resilience Summit will convene an international cohort of world-class plant science researchers at Michigan State University from May 16-17, 2024. A detailed schedule is available online. The event is FREE and open to all MSU community members. Please register using the online form. Registration closes on Monday, April 15, 2024, at 5 pm ET. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to Gaëlle Cassin-Ross (cassin@msu.edu).
