A fellowship to be awarded to attract or retain outstanding graduate students. This fund is a tribute to Richard U. Byerrum. |
Pamela J. Fraker Undergraduate Scholarship Endowment in Biochemistry |
This annual scholarship, given to Biochemistry undergraduate students, was established by Dr. Pamela J. Fraker, the first female National Academy of Sciences member from MSU. Preference will be given to students who have achieved sophomore status, who demonstrate a financial need and who have earned a 3.0 GPA. The number of awards given per year are dependent on the fund balance. |
Biannual lecture by an alumnus who completed undergraduate research training in the laboratory of a Department of BMB faculty member, or graduate research training leading to the Ph.D. in BMB, or graduate training leading to the Ph.D. in a program with which the Department of BMB faculty mentor is affiliated and is currently in the early stages of a promising career. This fund is a tribute to R. Gaurth Hansen. The awardee is determined by the BMB Awards Committee. |

Jack Throck Watson Graduate Fellowship in Biochemistry Endowment |
Former students and colleagues of Dr. Jack Throck Watson, Professor of Biochemistry and Chemistry, have established this graduate fellowship to honor their teacher, mentor, friend, and colleague. Awards will be made to graduate students majoring in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. Recipients are selected by the Department of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology. The number of awards given per year are dependent on the fund balance. |
