Martha Faner appointed Division of Medical Education's Director of Curriculum Integration

PRESS RELEASE FROM THE DIVISION OF MEDICAL EDUCATION:

The Division of Medical Education is pleased to announce that Martha Faner, PhD, has been appointed to serve as Director of Curriculum Integration.  Dr. Faner will continue her roles as an instructor in the Department of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology (BMB) and as a core faculty member at the college’s Detroit Medical Center site.  In this capacity, she has developed innovative teaching methods, working collaboratively with clinical faculty to build connections between foundational concepts and patient presentations.  She has also served on various committees and task forces in support of curriculum development.

With this new role, Dr. Faner will take on administrative responsibilities within the Division of Medical Education to support current and future strategies in the delivery of the D.O. curriculum.  As an example, she will work with faculty to coordinate connections between the foundational biomedical sciences and systems courses and the application of clinical reasoning as a unifying theme.

We are grateful for Dr. Faner’s expertise and leadership in our academic program.  As the college continues to operationalize its strategic plan, we see this position as working synergistically within the Division of Medical Education and across the college’s three sites.  Please join us in welcoming Dr. Faner to this new role.
