Dr. Debra Thompson

Debra Thompson is a professor of Biological Chemistry and Ophthalmology / Visual Sciences at the University of Michigan.  She received her PhD in Biochemistry at MSU in 1984 under the mentorship of Shelagh Ferguson-Miller.  Thompson’s current research focuses on studies of the molecular mechanisms responsible for inherited forms of retinal degeneration causing devastating loss of vision in affected individuals.
