Brandon Rohnke

Brandon completed his Ph.D. research as a member of Dr. Beronda Montgomery’s laboratory. His primary focus was in understanding the dynamic environmental regulation of the carbon concentrating mechanism in cyanobacteria. This work helped scientists to understand unique characteristics of photosynthesis in cyanobacteria and contributed to an understanding of subtle regulation of bacterial microcompartments. Brandon was awarded a fellowship in the American Association for the Advancement of Science’s Science & Technology Policy Fellowship. He will operate in the U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Basic Energy Science, where he will communicate to other agencies the impact from a portfolio of energy science projects.
